I presume that there isn't any `it' to download - a link to the Winamp page is all that's being provided.

you guys calm down and change you rating, the reason it brings you to winamp website is because QCD can use winamps DSP's
 GildedSplinter on March 30th, 2004 2:17am Rating: 100
Yeah guys... bmc152003 is right! Can't we all just get along : ) Seriously... I do wish QCD had some of its own DSPs. I've had more than my share of trouble getting Winamp's crap to work, but with the help and guidance of a few of my Quintessential brothers & sisters, I was able get it together. With regards to some of the above commentary, I must say that the TITLE of this "plugin" might suggest some connection to Winamp...

I've used in winamp the audiostocker DPS plugin, for me the best plugin for normalizing the volume of mp3, and now I use it also under QCD... AND WORKS PERFECT

There we have a Winamp enhancer plugin that works nicely with QCD and is free. Go to www.geocities.com / i_adryan and get "dsp_enh.exe", unpack and install in QCD plugins folder, then >plugins>DSPs and look for new plugins installed. It really works!! The same with any other DSP-DFX for Winamp. Enjoy! Maximo

GildedSplinter is right - I would like politely remind posters that Winamp audio plugins have enhanced the enjoyment of many of us 'on-line audiophiles'. Although each of us are all entitled to our hold and share our opinions here - remember they really ought to be constructive, hard as it may be do try to avoid 'venting' or posting unqualified abuse ...

Well Heck... I wento to the WinAmp site and downloaded several volume leveler DSP's (including some mentioned here) but can't get any of them to work. As far as QCD is concerned they might as well not be installed. Anybody here want to explain how in heck you get these DSP's to work with QCD???

Something I've noticed, when installing Winamp plug-ins: take the main dll and the second dll from the winamp dll, copy them into the plug-n folder, then dectect. EX: dsp_headphones.dll & wmpheadphones.dll, copy these 2 and paste them in your quintessential plugin folder. Lock and load them (have qplayer detect plugins) and it should detect your new plugin. Also, I found a few sweed plugins at www.youhng.com. Good luck and have fun.

I'm new to Quintessential player. So i was wondering can anyone here be kindly enough to explain to me on how exactly do you get the plugins for the winamp to work in Quintessential please? Thanks

Most of the Winamp plugins come with an installer that you can download from the Nullsoft site. Run the installer, and when it asks you for the Winamp directory, direct it to your QCD directory instead. Some of the installer programs won't let you select an install folder that isn't the REAL Winamp folder, so you have to trick it into thinking that the QCD folder is actually the Winamp one. You can do this easily by copying the Winamp executable (winamp.exe) into the QCD folder, and then running the DSP installer again. This works no problem for me.

Running DFX or OZONE for Winamp in QCD: Install Winamp,no panic you don't have to use it, just install! Install DFX for Winamp and activate it so it will work in Winamp.(Important) Go to C:Program FilesWinampPlugins, for the DFX plugin copy the file dsp_dfx.dll in to the plugin folder from your QCD player, close the Pogram Files and start QCD. In the Mainmenu go to Preferences, then to Plugins, then to DSPs, check the box in front of the DFX file and click downstairs on configure, that's it! Next time you start QCD,DFX will start up also. For Izotope Ozone you follow the same instructions, first make it run in Winamp, then copy and paste from the WinampPlugin folder the file dsp_IZOzone.dll and the folder Ozone (in this folder are the presets for OZONE) in to the QCD Plugin folder, and follow the instructions from upstairs to configure Ozone! This will work for most of the plugins that run in Winamp, first make them run in Winamp, then copy and paste the .dll files into the plugin folder from QCD.

I don't know if it works, but i tried AudioBurst DSP Plugin for Winamp and QCD doesn't load it at all ... I copied the DLL to the Plugins folder of QCD and it doesn't work either... http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details/151426 Please test and tell me.

DFX for Winamp is great for volume normalization, highly recommended! I have tried others that do the same thing in QMP, some didn't work though. Pietro Pro's RockSteady for example. KMGardiner does work, but has some quirks.
